Resume and Cover Letter

Dear Twitter,

I’ve spent the last six years getting the kind of experience that would make me an ideal Product Manager. Through my experience managing cross-discipline teams composed of marketers, developers, IT staff and designers, I have acquired the skills to guide complex web initiatives through to successful completion

With my background in multimedia and experience with information architecture, I am an ever vigilant User Experience advocate. Regardless of my role in each project, I have always strived to provide users with the most intuitive and positive way of interacting with each site and application. Finding the balance between visual messaging, technical requirements and overall strategy is a challenge I enjoy tackling on a regular basis

I’ve had the good fortune of working with many talented people over the years and I believe they have been crucial to my success. This knowledge has led me on a continuing search to find better ways to manage projects and people in each situation. Taking ideas from Agile, standard project management practices, being tuned in to corporate culture and the talents of individuals has allowed me to create High Performing Teams and high quality products. These efforts have contributed to projects releasing on time and often ahead of schedule.

In my last two positions I have experimented with, and even implemented, ways in which my employers could utilize Twitter to automate business processes and increase their technology profile. I also recently started a side project with some colleagues to create a piece of interactive art that uses Twitter at its core. I love being involved with emerging technology and finding more ways it can be applied to everyday life and business.

I am a technologist at heart and being a part of the Twitter team would be a dream job. I look forward to speaking with you further about this position.

Sincerely,
Ryan Houghtelling
